I have a winter wood stove. It's great. However, I always make sure I burn it outside in advance to minimize the chance of carbon monoxide poisoning. I also advise you to stay away from stupid cheap wood stoves. You may have to feed them all night, they won't even keep you warm. Their adjustment is also bad. You'll spend all night fiddling with it more than you should. Be sure to add dirt or sand to the bottom of the fire retardant mat to prevent premature bottom burning. The ideal wood stove should have a chimney flue that extends to the top of the tent and should be equipped with a spark suppressor. Also, when placing chimneys, consider the direction of the wind to carry away smoke and embers. My take-out is a wood stove is an interesting choice, and if you lean on more jungle craft, that would be great. They are a little more complicated than gas stoves, but I don't mind because they give me something to pass the time with. But if I'm in a group, especially with my kids, I prefer pot burners because they're so efficient.
