Three methods of cleaning barbecue rack

Mar 26, 2022

Method 1: clean the gas grill

Cleaning gas grill

Clean burners and pipes. When the barbecue season begins, you'll want to clean the grill thoroughly. Make sure the fuel tank is closed before cleaning.

Remove the barbecue coal and grill chops.

Separate the gas transmission pipe and burner. Clean the gas transmission pipe with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. Clean the burner with a wet towel.

Wipe the air port of each burner with a dry towel. Use toothpick or bamboo barbecue fork to completely remove each air port.

Wash the grill

two

Wash the grill. Cover all air valves with aluminum foil and keep them dry (prevent rust). Wash the inside and outside surfaces of the oven with soap and warm water, and then dry them with a clean towel. After completion, reconnect the gas transmission pipe and burner.

Scrub areas with lumpy debris with a long handle grill brush containing wire bristles.

Burn out grease and debris

Burn off grease and debris. Turn the coal upside down, close the lid and heat the grill at high temperature for 15 minutes. This can loosen the grease on the barbecue oven and facilitate cleaning.

Cool the grill for 10-15 minutes before safely removing the grill and coal. Wash the grill with soap and water and remove all lumpy grease with a barbecue brush. Wire wool pads can also be used to remove stickiness from the grill.

Dry the grill with a clean towel and replace the coal and grill.

Brush the grilled chops carefully with a grill brush

Maintain a consistent cleaning plan. After each use, carefully brush the grill with the grill brush. Remove all food debris and particles.

Pay special attention to the area around coal or volcanic rocks, as food often falls off the grilled chops. Remove food particles and wipe with rags.

Cover the grill

Cover the grill. After cooling, cover the grill to avoid dirt. Cover the gas transmission pipe interface to prevent insects from chewing.

Just cover the grill and store the fuel outside the grill.

If you store the grill indoors, cover the grill and disconnect the fuel tank.

Method 2: clean the carbon oven

At the beginning of the barbecue season, make sure you remove all old ashes and clean the outside of the grill. Prepare charcoal and get ready for the barbecue. Habitually clean the grill after each picnic to ensure that your stove is in the best condition.

Clean the charcoal oven

Heat the grilled chops. Before starting the barbecue, light charcoal and coal, place the barbecue on the fire, and cover the barbecue rack with a cover. Let the grill heat for 10-20 minutes.

Heating the grill can melt the grease on the grill for easy cleaning.

Brush grilled chops

Brush the grilled chops. Using a long grill brush with a handle (preferably made of hard steel wire), brush the grill to remove all particles attached to it. If you don't have a grill brush, you can rub the grill with wrinkled aluminum foil and long pliers.

Clean the grilled steak and remove the grease, marinade, seasoning and melted cheese that can be transferred to fresh grilled food.

Dirty fat can also make meat sticky - especially delicate fish. For fish food, it is recommended to barbecue with aluminum foil on the grilled steak to avoid sticking and damaging the fish.

Put the grilled chops directly into the oven

Use your oven. If your oven has automatic cleaning function, you can bypass the brushing and washing part and put the grilled steak directly into the oven.

Remove the grills and metal parts (already stained with food) from the grill.

Put these parts directly into the oven shelf and set the oven to automatic cleaning mode.

The oven will be locked and heated to about 480 degrees Celsius. This will burn all food residues and thoroughly clean the oven!

Grease the grilled chops

Grease the roast chops. When the grill is cleaned, fold a paper towel four times and turn it into a cleaning cloth. Put a little vegetable oil or olive oil on the cloth and apply the oil to the roast ribs with pliers.

Greasing grilled chops can prevent food from becoming sticky. Bacon oil or steak oil can also be used for greasing roast chops, and can add additional flavor to food.

When using, be careful not to let the oil drop on the charcoal, because this will lead to "sudden combustion" of the fire, or increase the heat in a small area. One of the purposes of barbecue is to maintain a consistent heat for continuous food barbecue.

Wipe and oil again

Wipe and oil again. After your barbecue, scrub the grill with aluminum foil or grill brush and oil it again to avoid rust.

There is controversy over who should wash the grill with soap or whether food should be allowed to accumulate. This may be a matter of preference, but you know it's a tool for cooking. Do not use irritating chemicals or solvents (such as bleach or oven cleaner) directly on the grill, as this may be transferred to the food.

After the barbecue season, it is best to leave a little grease or oil on the barbecue rack to avoid rusting (the rusting condition only needs water, iron and oxygen).

Treated charcoal

Treat charcoal. Before wrapping charcoal with durable aluminum foil, cool it for 48 hours and then place it in a non combustible container. The container can be a metal bucket or can.

Be sure to place non combustible containers away from flammable substances, such as gasoline, acetone, sawdust and paper.

If you have to cool the ashes quickly, wrap them in aluminum foil and completely soak them in water before putting them in a non combustible container.

Cover the grill

Cover the grill. A big part of keeping grills clean is how they are stored. The lid of the grill keeps it from rusting - especially if the grill is stored outdoors.

The grill cover can not only protect the grill itself, but also prevent the barbecue tableware from rusting.

For warm months, lightweight grill covers can be used, and some companies also produce heavyweight covers for extreme winter weather.

The good quality and fitting lid can protect the grill and prevent animals and pets from entering.

Method 3: clean the electric barbecue rack

Both indoor and outdoor electric grills have their real advantages (no fuel source!), There are also their disadvantages (food loses its smoky smell). Fortunately, the cleaning of the electric grill is very simple.

Unplug the grill

Unplug the grill. When you're done, turn off and unplug the power. Cool thoroughly before preparing the surface.

Clean the degreaser

Clean the degreaser. Most electric grills have a small cup to hold the juice and grease produced during the barbecue process. This cup should be cleaned after each use.

Remove the cup according to the instructions of the barbecue oven. Empty the contents.

Wash the degreaser in the dishwasher (if you can use the dishwasher), or wash it with warm soap.

Wipe off any excess grease or food with a paper towel

clean. Wipe off any excess grease or food with a paper towel. Some styles come with removable grill plates. These dishes can be washed with dishwasher or warm soap.

Check the operation manual of the product, understand all functions and follow the written instructions

Do not immerse the entire grill in water. The original electrical equipment inside may be damaged in water.

Wipe with a sponge

Wipe with a sponge. If your product does not contain removable grill plates, clean the grill plates with a sponge coated with soap. Be careful not to use excessively rough scrubbers, as this will damage the non stick surface of the grill.

Scrub with a rag

Scrub with a rag. After sponge is wiped, remove all grease residue with a wet cloth and wash all soap foam. When finished, dry the grill plate with a dry paper towel.

Clean the outside of the grill

Clean the outside of the grill. Remove grease from the outside of the grill with a sponge and a few drops of detergent. Grease usually splashes and collects in the upper and lower covers of the grill, so it is recommended that you clean these places after each use.

Follow all written instructions to properly protect and store the electrical grill.
